  • That the cops did their job as they saw fit. You would not be very happy if some cop came around telling you how to do your job, so just let them do theirs. Kthxbai.
  • Well was it pot or was it crack? because they are two very different things. Rightly so I think they should get a slap on the wrists and their parents informed if it was cannabis. Crack, however, is alot more serious, it's an extremely addictive drug and probably should be approached in a different way. I wouldn't know how though.
  • Although I consider this crime fairly minor, crack use can often lead to addiction that then leads to other crimes just to pay for the crack ... so, if the cops had arrested and charged them all, their NEXT offense would not be their first, and sentencing could be more severe ... wrist slaps are not adequate deterents.
  • Pot or crack??? They are HUGELY different drugs!!
  • I don't care to get into the differences between pot and crack, so I will discuss the actions of the police. I actually agree with what they did. They gave the kids a break. This showed compassion, which might do more than being a hard a*s about it. They also brought the problem to the parent's attention. The fact that their kids are doing drugs might be something that they were not aware of. Help should start with the people who love them, not the state or federal government. Besides, maybe this will make the kids think twice about doing it again.
  • I also think they should have taken them "down town". Drugs are a serious offense.
  • Was it pot or crack? In most jurisdictions, the protocol for pot possession would be a citation with a notice to appear and crack possession would require booking. That is merely my understanding, but it all depends on a combination of factors such a your state laws, the availability of manpower, and local policies.
  • I would assume that the police's actions partially depended on the kids ages and if they have a previous history of trouble. I also would guess that they might have a court date to determine what further punishment - if any - should happen. I've not dealt with the drug thing. But, I know kids that were arrested for underage drinking. The police called the parents and if the parents picked the kids up in a certain time frame then they didn't go "down town." One particular person was 17 yrs. old and no history of being in trouble. That person did go to court and was given so many hours of community service. The person was on probation until she turned 18 and then the charges were dropped. This certainly scared the person & was well behaved after that.
  • If they were smoking crack than they would have been arrested so get your facts straight. As for weed, if your under the age of 16 they will sometimes do that.
  • wow your hella retarded fool i smoke the ganja weed everyday theres a huge difference between mary and crack
  • Got the same problem with underage smokers in my neighborhood. This punk kid has already vandalized two houses in the neighborhood, has corrupted another kid who follows him around like a lost puppy, I'm the only one who gives a rip - so, if I call the police, guess who's house this punk torches next... I need the sh*t scared out of him - his parents don't care, neighbors don't care (as long as it's not their house). Help!
  • How do you know that they were smoking pot and crack?
