  • I don't know if this really qualifies as a trick. But....if anyone, I mean ANYONE,(even a complete stranger) says "Ouch" My dog George will run at my son and start nipping at him, growling and snarling. If my son is down the hall in his room, there he goes racing down to attack him. I really don't know why he does this, but he does. Yet, he will climb into my son's lap and give him kisses and even take a nap on him. Very strange.
  • I no longer have him, but my dog was able to jump through hoops. He could do it from a down, sit, stand, and all the way up on his back legs before I gave him the command.
  • My golden retr. every morning will bark if I wink at him, obviously wanting to be fed. Then since someone may be sleeping I'll put my finger to my lips and he lowers his bark so you can hardly hear him...lol.

  • My dog Yuengling rings a bell on the door knob when he wants to go out. I used to have a cat who would answer the phone. Every time it rang, he ran into the bedroom, knocked the receiver off the hook with his paw and put his ear down to listen. It was so bizarre.
  • My cat could jump up and pull the front door handle down so the door would open, also he could move the sewing machine i used to place in front of the fridge so he could open the fridge door and pinch all the food :)
  • If you point your finger at him and say "bang" he will fall down and play dead.
  • I've had dogs that could do water rescue and pull a cart. And I had a cockatoo that I trained to do all sorts of tricks. He would dance and count or do math. He even could ride a little metal scooter pushing himself along with his other foot, just like a little kid:-)
  • Our dog can do SO many tricks. My favorite: My daughter will hold her in a sitting position and tell her to go to sleep. She will go limp, leaning to the side and look exactly like she went to sleep. Something else she did, but only once. My daughter was getting her to jump through a hoop. She kept raising it higher and higher. Our dog is part coyote so she can jump pretty high, but it was finally too high. My daughter kept saying "jump, Ginger"..Ginger would go around instead. Kourtni told her to jump a few more times, finally, Ginger put her paw in the hoop, pushed it down lower and jumped through it.

  • Actually the best and worst at the same time. my cat use to use the toilet. I've had her since a kitten and I never trained her to do it. She picked it up after following me into the bathroom all the time when she was a kitten I guess. Four paw prints on a white toilet seat is kind of neat, but when she growled and hissed at me when I interupted her once, it was right back to the litter box. Now she perches on the side of the litterbox. Always got to remember to put in extra litter in the wintertime or else she'll tip it over.
