Smelly skin. Scientists have proved that mosquitoes are attracted to the smell of cheesy feet - even when it actually is cheese, not feet.

Your skin chemicals are what lure Blood-sucking insects to their next meal. Scientists have known for decades that mosquitoes are drawn to carbon dioxide, exhaled in abundance by the animals, including humans, that hungry mosquitoes favor. Carbon dioxide doesn't tell the whole story, though. Mosquitoes, after all, tend to bite people on the arms and legs. But those parts don't give off that much CD and mosquitoes rarely go charging into our mouths. Then in 1968 scientists discovered that lactic acid, which emanates from human skin, acts as an attractant. And there may be others, too like blood sugar and yeasts.

They are attracted by two things, the applied scents on the skin, such as perfumed soap, deodorant, and perfume. This greatly attracts mosquitoes.Another is the level of sugar in the blood stream, for they can sense it through our breath.I knew someone that was going camping in the bush for a month. For two weeks he would not shower and would eat a lot of garlic. From experience he knew that mosquitoes do not like body odor and garlic smell as well.
