  • I usually, elevate it and put ice on it. Or I would go the other way and put a heating pad in it or stick my foot in the bath-tub. I also take Advil which works really well for me! If it continues to hurt, you should go to see a doctor!
  • This would depend strongly on what sort of pain you are experiencing. Is it muscle or nerve pain? Where is the pain located on the bottom of your foot? In the heel, the arch, or just under the toes? Is this pain a recent developement or have you suffered from it before? I have problems with my feet over-pronating (flat feet) which is where your ankles sort of roll inwards...you may not even realize you do it until you put a mirror on the floor behind your feet and check for yourself. This can lead to sore feet and back problems. You usually correct this by wearing good arch supports. I also have a morton's neuroma in my left foot which causes me severe pain whenever I stand up from a squatting position. This is usually corrected by surgery.
