Why doesn't Answerbag allow responses to ratings and comments?

Answerbag does allow responses to rating and comments. You are free to edit your own answer at any time. However, your new reply might be edited or the old reply restored by the administration if you violate any of the terms of use that you agreed to by joining this site. I frequently edit my answers to add new material or refine what I previously wrote and to respond to comments left by users that are: - correct and worthy of note. - incomprehensible. - incorrect. - offensive. - opening a new area of discussion. - personal attacks. - rude. - unrelated to the answer.
