Emma, naming and shaming are a no-no in any forum like AB. Personally, I've been accused of being a sock puppet of someone here and I really find it ridiculous!

I think it is a pretty ineffective way to communicate a point. It usually is a good way to deflect from the actual issue being discussed. There are better ways to handle a disagreement. Like intelligent discussion, and sometimes the acknowledgment of our rights to disagree. To me it is never acceptable on AB.

I am all for it and have even done it once myself! Unfortunatly (or fortunately, seeing as all I had was a crap load of CIRCUMSTANTIAL evidence) AB is completely against it!

I really couldn't care less. I never look at anybodies profile or anywhere other than the list of questions on the first few pages - the personal profile of a person on the other side of the planet is just meaningless to me as mine would be to them (I am assuming the naming stuff happens there of course, I don't actually know). However, I do have a large fan base and am sure that I am already something of a celebrity. BTW what is a sock puppet and how is it offensive?
