carnkshaft position sensor is the culprit for this problem. it is only about $50 to buy a new one and easy to replace.
OK better late than never , firdt off if the fuel pump is running you don't have to look for the cut off switch !!! Now with that said lets get started . First check the icm fuse under the hood (gm style micro) Second check the fuel pressure at the rail on the manifold (could be fuel regulator) third if it still wont go You will need to check your cam and or crank sensors !
Check your manual...I read that theres an emergency fuel pump shut-off switch...located under the instrument panel to the right of the transmission hump. behind the carpet

Possible clogged fuel injectors or fuel filter
I had a similar problem. It was the FUEL relay located at the rear of the engine compartment on the passenger side. You can test this possiblilty by checking to see if the injectors are gettiing fuel. Squirt some starting fluid inito the throttle body intake. If it starts and dies, it is not getting fuel. Could also be the fuel pump which is located in the gas tank and is a difficult repair.

You're reading What is wrong with a 94 ford explorer 4x4 v6 that cranks and wont start. ICM is good, no oil on plugs,(brand new) ig coils test fine, has compression, fuel pump works, brand new starter.
