  • Never heard that, but I guess its a respect-toward-women thing, dunno.
  • I haven't exactly heard to not date a guy who doesn't like his mother. I have heard not to date a guy who doesn't treat his mother well. If he doesn't even treat the woman he should have the most love and respect for in his life, then why do you think he'd treat you any better?
  • If he couldn't respect his own mom, then he couldn't respect other women
  • Um, because he might transfer some of his agression onto you?
  • I don't know who says that, but if a man has an abusive, psychotic, or even just a lukewarm mother, it can be hard to insist that he like her. Love thy mother and father, you don't have to like them. I would be more worried if the members of the couple disagreed on how to treat either of their respective parents. Being split about the in-laws carries more marriage difficulties than simply ignoring one or more of the children's grandparents.
  • Well it is a fact that parents are your first models of authority, as well as your primary model for a woman and man. If he doesn't like his mother, he is somehow having issues with his first Woman model and against his primary authority model. But that doesn't mean he will have trouble with ALL women. Not all mothers are likeable so it depends on the reason(s) why he doesn't like her. Is it because she's a bad parent/person in general or is it because he is angry/rebellious? If he doesn't like her as a person, you shouldn't have a problem. If he's just rebellious, you might have trouble imposing him anything and making firm plans with him,...
  • I thought is was "never date a guy that likes his mother too much"
