I get taught many worthwhile things on Answerbag alone. I can honestly say that a few of you have told me things and commented on questions that have made me sit up and take notice (and notes).

NO. Many things worth knowing can be taught and are being taught ... however many other things must be discovered ... someone else may guide you towards them, but you must learn them on your own.

definitely. experience can't be taught, you have to be the one to do it on your own and its one of the most important things worth knowing :)

Of course not...learning how to read, count, drive, cook, fix things, make things...all of these can be taught and all are certainly worth knowing. :)

no, never. only loved ones can "teach" those in a sense of helping you learn them through mistakes

Yes. You could have told me over and over and over what I needed to know, and it would have done me no good at all until I learned it for myself. You could tell me over and over and over that God loves me, but I have to learn it myself in order for it to change my life.
