  • That depends on which lottery ... and which type of lottery ... For the instant scratch & win type, the odds are 1 in what ever number were produced. For the lottos that pick a few numbers out of a bunch of numbers, the odds are calculated using the formula of "P choose C" ... where P = the amount of numbers you are allowed to choose and C = the amount of numbers you are allowed to choose from.
  • The same odds that Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple will have an affair together.
  • The same odds as Paris Hilton or The Poxy Beckhams hibernating for ten years.
  • My odds are none, because I don't play, but if you are asking about picking numbers it depends if the first selection reduces the total selection pool. For instance, a one number pick out of fifty numbers would be 50 to one. Picking two out of those same 50 would be 50 X 49 or one in 2450, three out of those 50 would be 50 x 49 x 48 or one in 117600...and so on. However, if it is like the daily lotto where you have to pick 3 numbers from one to ten and the selection is from 10 numbers each time the odds are 10 x 10 x 10 or one in a thousand.
  • What are the odds that a toilet will fall from the ski and hit me in the skull?
  • Your actual odds of winning the lottery depend on where you play, but single state lotteries usually have odds of about 18 million to 1 while multiple state lotteries have odds as high as 120 million to 1.
