  • We don't believe the Jesus did pass His kingdom on to another person. We consider this Church to be His kingdom on Earth. He leads it through revelation to His chosen prophets.
  • Hebrews 6:20: Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. We don't need the priesthood restored, it was never lost, Jesus will hold it forever!
  • Hevrews 6:27: Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. 6:28: For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
  • The Bible does indeed plainly state that Jesus Christ, the only true and living Son of GOD, is Prophet, Priest, and King. To whom would He pass his kingdom? He is truly King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and even the angels fall down before Him. All things in heaven and earth belong to Him.
  • Apparently the words of the author of the book of Hebrews . . . Hebrews 7 (KJV) 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. ... regarding Melchizedek king of Salem and priest of God Most High gets missed by Latter-day Saints. A common understanding is that Melchizedek was an Old Testament Christophany (appearance of Christ) and clearly there was and will be the ONLY such High Priest - ever. That is, unless LdS can figure out how to meet the following criteria: 1) Without father 2) Without mother 3) Without descent (aka "without children") 4) Without beginning of days 5) Without end of life 6) Like the Son of God 7) A priest continually (better, modern translations say "forever") So, yeah, that kinda invalidates their claims of holding the Melchizedek Priesthood.
