I know this analogy will sound weird but if you have a mouse or rat problem and constantly buy traps but never clean up around your house your problem never really goes away or not as fast as you would hope. In extermination practice Sanitation is always key. What does that have to do with your question? Profiling can be like putting out rat/ mouse traps but where is the sanitation? We had wars on so many Nationalities since the start of this Great nation and even a war on Drugs but has drug use gone away? No!! Why? No Sanitation! Ok- I mean that if we cleaned up our acts and made more muslim friends than enemies we would not need to profile them as they would be our allies. It not that hard to do. The other thing is what does a muslim look like? That view depends on if you are a Russian, A ugoslavian, A Greek, A Japanese or An American law enforcement officer to name a few. Each officer would have a different idea what a muslim looks like based on the muslim appearence in their countries but the fact is you really do not know who is and is not a muslim. More muslims work in Wall Street everyday but they are not Arabs or Pakistanis. (No I do not mean only Blacks either) Who is to say that while you are profiling one group you will not be attacked by another. Security if very very important but so is intelligence. Let's recognize that we are a nation founded upon racism and that no matter what we do in Politics it will be colored by our own racism as well as our ignorance of other cultures and beliefs. Do what must be done to secure the nation but also do what must be done to secure the peace by making friend and allies with Muslims not enemies! And for once support and be an ally to the peaceful spiritual muslims who were being slaughtered for years by western Backed Radicals. At least give it a try once. And I do not mean allies to fight your battles for you like Jihadis Mujahideen of Afganistan or Saddam Hussain of Iraq to name a few, make real friends and real allies to the extent that those who assert that America is an enemy of Islam will be laughed at by the muslims who have already embraced America as a great friend. Otherwise we can always remain scared of our own shadows at home and just send every child left to the war and keep fighting until we win in Iraq. Win what????
