Why are so many people out to ban these "Harry Potter" books? I think if you ban something, you just get everyone's curiosity way up. What do you think?

I myself dont believe in witchery or sorcery so i dont read it but i would not ban it. some people like that stuff and like to read it. I say let them.

I don't agree with the evilness of the Harry Potter books and would not let my children read them, however I think it is ridiculous to BAN them. We live in a FREE country and have a right to purchase/read what we want to and not purchase/read what we don't want to.

That series is so popular that there was bound to be loonies trying to knock it down. That was inevitable. And wow are THEY fighting a losing battle. No store owner is gonna stop carrying Harry Potter books. Psh.

Simple narrow minded religious freaks! Its as simple as that! They want to ban the books because they believe they are glorifying magic, which ofc they are not! They are a work of fiction, and unlike the religious peoples bible (a second work of fiction) it is not disputed! These people are IDIOTS. Note: Not all religious people are idiots, only those that try to ban the HP books for the reasons stated above.

so far, only the moronic fools, John Hagee, Bill Donohue, and certain other bigoted preachers have pushed to ban a children's book. Their small and feeble minds do not grasp the concept of FICTION!!!! Or maybe it's because their bible carries less validity than Harry Potter.

without knowing anything and speaking out of my butt, I'd have to say that it's being banned because humans are stupid and devolving, but mostly becasue it's about witches, wizards and occult forces, etc. I would stake my next paycheck on it.
