  • Wow! In a statement after the fact, the school admitted "an error of judgment." To say the least!
  • Had it been for an photograph showing the spectrum of diveristy among humans AND the experiment had been clearly explained to the children in a positive light, it might have made for a neat pic. As it played out, however, it seemed to be at best an unconsciously racist decision. It's too bad kids were exposed to the continued ignorance of some adults.
  • I myself am not a racist person so i personally dont think it is fair. Could you imagine how some of the kid think of this? Its just not right. I would tell the admistrators that they are a bunch of racist pigs then i would take my child out of the school cuz my child does not need to be taught rasicm at school.
  • The article sez it was the photographer's decision, not the school administrators'. The administrators just hired a photographer and probably had no clue about it until after somebody complained. It would make more sense to line them up by height, as professional dancers do. P.S. Everything done in a school is forced upon the children, where've you been?
  • I think this is ridiculas and if my kids were to go to a school so far out dates I would immediately remove them from it, sue the school and have all the pictures destroyed! Such a thing may have been acceptable 50 years ago, but is not now!
  • That's crazy! Who ever had that idea was an idiot.
  • As a parent, I would sue the crap out of them. They would be paying for my children's college fund.
  • Goodbye, my child won't be attending here anymore! And then like someone else said, sued for their college money!!
  • The Headmistress should be sacked on account of the fact she's an idiot.
  • I think it is DISGUSTING! I would stand outside the school with a placard protesting about it and pray that the excreta would hit the fan over it - police etc - so that I could cause the biggest media storm I could over it so that it could not be covered up, brushed under the carpet or 'handled' I would scream untill whatever asshat that dreamed this degrading crap up was fired irrevocably! Man - this makes me so MAD!.
  • This is legal?? I don't think that the school administrators have the collective intelligence of a paper clip. I would go higher...set the press on this one and embarass the hell out of the school that does it. This is disgusting behaviour and should not be tolerated. What do they think they are teaching the children!!!
  • ...Racism starts when we use the colour of someone's skin against them. Head teacher saying 'now only white (or only black) children can be on the photo' would be racist. This was not. - Alicja, Croydon, UK i just read the article and i have to agree with this woman. if it saved time for the photographers and got the children into class any quicker, not to mention got the best posible photo, i would have to agree. would the same fuss have been made if it were hair colour or hight they were being put into order for? i doubt it...
