Emmanuel was the name given to Jesus on his birth.
-
Emanuel means "God with Us". It is a direct quote of the Prophets. Jesus in Hebrew means "God is our Salvation". Jesus was what the babe was named, Emanuel was the proclamation of the Prophets that the Messiah had come. Emanuel is a title, not a name. As to whether people called him Emanuel, I believe that the prophets certainly did, and Matthew alluded to that proclamation, so others probably did.
-
Emmanuel is another Name given to the Lord Jesus Christ which expresses His Divinity. -In the Master's service. Thank you and God bless you!
-
There is no record that anyone ever did. Most people called him by his name, which was Yeshua, or in English, Joshua. His followers called him "Master" or sometimes "Rabbi."
-
I saw an ad in the paper: "If you need help, call on Jesus," and it listed a phone number, so I called. An illegal alien came with a pick-up truck.

Good question. I have often wondered on this myself. Perhaps one was a nickname. or was changed as so many names changed in Bible. Jacob, Abraham, Sarah, Paul, Peter all had name changed.

I wasn't there, or, if I was, I don't remember, but, I believe that "Emmanuel" is a title and not meant to be His actual name. His name was "Yeshua."

The prophet Isaih was inspired to write: “Hear ye, therefore, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to be grievous to men, that you are grievous to my God also? Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel.”—Isa. 7:13, 14, Dy. Centuries later, The Bible writer Matthew recorded this: “Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying: Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Matt. 1:22, 23, Dy) According to God’s command, the child was named Jesus.
