Had tub filled with ice for a party with various soft drinks in cans. coke, pepsi, diet coke, brisk tea, lemonade, mt. dew, diet dew, etc. when the ice melted, I noticed every can sank except for the diet coke, anyone know why the diet coke floated?

Looking at the list, I would say that because it is a diet drink, and the lack of the density of real sugar would potentially allow it to float. Assumming that they are all full and sealed.

I've had coolers of icewater containing various soft drink cans -- they all sink, including Diet Cokes. Is it possible that your floating can had frozen and expanded? You can tell if the bottom of the can becomes convex instead of concave.
