  • He was painted by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, in 1818, and I'm sorry but thats all I can find, and you ask any homework question you like, I'll answer them, if I can :-p
  • He was painted by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, 1818. I think he was just a merchant, just someone who sat for the painting. He doesn't appear to be anyone of importance.
