Just out of curiosity: if ever and if when you give an AB'er a minus point(s), do you then give an explanation of why you thought to do that?

I have never given any minus points. If I don't like something I comment on it.

I only downrate for sheer ignorance. I often give an explanation, but am guilty of letting some just figure it out for themselves.

I've only given minus points a few times, and it was to people that were complete A**HOLES. In those few cases, I'm pretty sure my reasons were clear already.

Yes I always give a reason for the minus however I seldom DR, it has to be very offensive or so misleading, it could hurt someone.

I obviously downrate sometimes. You only have to look at my profile to see that I only give 95% positive ratings. Most of my downrates have been for questions or answers that are so blatantly offensive that I have also flagged them as such. I do tend to leave a comment or answer explaining why, although in the most extreme cases I don't.

I very rarely downrate. If I do, I give an explanation of why I did it. I only do it for a blatantly incorrect answer, or an offensive question/answer. I *NEVER* downrate for a difference of opinion. I think that is flatout wrong. It's immature, and I think people who d/r for disagreement and don't leave a comment are chicken$hits. If you want to be an adult, respect my opinion and tell me why yours is different. Don't be a jerk hiding behind a mouse and just click on a minus sign.
