  • You can basically use any PC (desktop or laptop) with a TV if the PC is capable of using a Video Card with TV In/Out. So, according to your laptop model, go to the manufacturer's website or any PC dealer (like PC Club) and find out if your laptop can use a TV In/Out device. Another interesting tip for laptop users: You can have a docking station at home. This station is a flat surface (like a slim case) where you can connect a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers and so on (and sometimes other cards and accessories). When you are at home you just "dock" your laptop and use it like a desktop. Hope this is useful.
  • You can indeed use your TV as a monitor for your laptop or desktop assuming that your machine or docking station has the proper outs for connection. Typically, these outs will either look like Coaxial or RCA connections on the card, or there will be a connection similar to a PS/2 keyboard that can hook in to the SVGA connection on your TV. (There are of course, MANY different types floating around out there..!) Unless you have a fairly new HDTV however, I wouldn't recommend it. Most TV's (until the last couple of years) only handle about 500 lines on the screen. The average computer Monitor is capable of handling thousands of lines. So while the images on your monitor will look clean, sharp and crisp, the same images on your TV may well look fuzzy and "not quite right". This is ONE of the reasons why WebTV never really took off too well. A lot of websites just looked too fuzzy and gave a lot of users headaches. It's also why for a while there on the web you would often see websites that would say "WebTV users, click here" (or words to that effect, but there were other problems as well). It's also why in the business realm, most companies have gone to using projectors for things like PowerPoint presentations rather then hooking up TV's for meetings. Personally, I wouldn't bother with it. (Just as a side note, this is also why I used to scoff at salesmen for the cable company when they used to tell me how digital TV had over 2000 lines! I knew my TV could only handle 500).
  • yes through s-video if your laptop supports s-video. hold (fn key and press f4) it should toggle between screen/and tv or both. Or you can get a 3rd party one through the usb.
  • no its to hard
  • Most reasonably new laptops come with some way to connect to television. They will have usually a s-video out and/or a standard A/V out. This laptop came with a small adapter that I plug in that has all the ports I need for connecting to the television. It's impossible for me to say more w/o knowing the make/model of your laptop however.
  • yes you are right, it is too hard.
  • your tv should have s-video jack in round shape like mouse jack on ur computer. buy a vga card with s video jack. mostly it was in past models of vga. connect it with an s-s cable. purchased from electronics shop. and ur tv will be ready as monitor, whatever the size of tv is. try to purchase that vga with maximum capacity like above 64m. however mine works as 32mb also. good night..sleep tight...........ask me more at zamirabbas@hotmail.com.
