Why is it "better" to make your own dreamcatcher than to purchase one?? Does it affect how it'll work?

My aunt gave me one of the white buffalo Tatanka and I have hung it in my room as a sign of respect ever since she sent it to me as a birthday present two years ago.

If your purpose is the one most people know, to capture "bad" dreams and allow "good" dreams, then yes, it can affect how it works. We all have magic and if we use our magic to create an amulet or talisman, we put a part of ourselves into it. If you make it for someone else, the same is true and your magic is stronger if you know each other. You must believe in what you're making or doing. If you purchase a dreamcatcher, you must believe that the one who made it believes, too. By making your own, you "charge" the dreamcatcher with your positive energy, as you create it. The reason it is better to make your own is because you and your dreams are connected and therefore that which you create with your own hands becomes part of you and your dreams. In short they work better when it becomes part of you.
