Never heard of BINGO. Sounds a strange one. On London Underground the announcement... "Would Inspector Sands please come to the station cotrol room." and on C2C ( A mainline company) use... "Would Inspector Sands go to the country end of platform 5". These are to indicate that something is wrong, but it could be a fire to a bomb, so listen for the evacuation warning and act on staff instruction.

Have worked for a railroad for over thity years and have never heard that one. That being said often crews will come up with sayings to warn other train crews that they are being policed by train officals such as train masters with aradion broadcast as "wesseles in the weeds" or "ticks in the woods", ect. The saying is often changed as most officals really don't care for it {go figure} and a lot of crews love the challange of coining a new phrase. BINGO also be a regional or even British saying. I also wounder if it might be an anagram - for what I have no idea. +4 and if you remind me by a comment I will ask around at work.
