My BG Macaw has been acting aggressively to our other female bird. She also rubs her butt on us and growls. This has been going on for weeks and I've been bitten twice. What happening?

    Looks like your BG is a Male Wanting to mate, the female is simply not ready, they will fight and bicker between each other and show agressiveness towards one another until one gives in or one gives up. I am going through the same thing right now with my White Cap Pionis parrots. if you want to school yourself some more you should look for the book "The Parrot That Owns Me" its a wonderful and entertaining book all about parrot mating behavior, and how she deals with her amazon parrot in mating season, a must read for any bird/parrot owner
