I have had a bazillion charlie horses. I live in poverty and was malnutritioned. Charlie horses are usually reserved for the intense muscle tightening/locking up where you are in pain and have to get out of bed to stretch and massage the muscle to get the muscle to unlock. You may have just been experiencing a slight spasm that could be taken care of with adding potassium, calcium, and water to your diet.
