Well no, I don't think so. Christians are like humans everywhere: they want to resolve the big questions about themselves and life, they want to have a sense of being connected to something larger than their ego, and they want to have a framework for meaning and values. Personally, I think one of the reasons Christianity is a popular option is because it makes fewer demands on the individual than some other religions: the notion of being saved by grace is sort of a breakthrough technology in religion -- no longer must you do the hard work of purging your own greed, ignorance, fear, and apathy... accepting Christ's sacrifice and allowing it's redeeming power to cleanse your spirit is, really, just a lot less work. To be fair, I've met many Christians who do quite a bit of work on themselves even so... they do not just plop down on the couch and say "whew, I'm saved! Cool, where's the remote!?".
