i didnt grow up with fights on a daily basis but i do agree children are affected by it. i also know people who grow up in homes like this have turned out the total opposite of their parents and made a good life for themselves. i know one lad who moved away soon as he could and now he as 2 children and a wife and they are really happy, nothing like his parents at all.

I grew up in a home where fights were constant. Moved probably 20-25 times before I was 16. Drugs were in the mix, the only rock in my life was my Grandparents, and I thank God everyday for them. I wouldn't say that I've completely overcome that stuff, because My husband and I fight alot, not on a daily basis, and especially not in front of our kids. Thats one thing that I can say thatI did do differently than my mother and father and first, second and third, step-fathers. Most importantly, they will never be exposed to drug use in my house, also. The difference is, is I know what it was like, and if I don't break the cycle now, who will? I never want my babies to feel uncertain about anything in life....especially about where they are going to sleep tonight.
