You phrase your question as if the minerals produced the plants. To answer that, life does not come from non-life. On the other hand, different rock types contain varying amounts of minerals in them. Plants can break down these rocks & survive in soil that has less than ideal mineral content suitable to these plants. If some plants don't make it, other plants begin to take over the area that are more suited to the mineral content.

There is no correct amount of minerals that was put in the soil. There is a certain amount present. Then the plant-life would either survive in that soil or it would die out. The survivors would thrive and multiply.
