Have you consulted your doctor? It could be his formula. He is a bit young to be adding anything else, but I would try an ounce of water and see if he takes it eagerly. He may be dehydrated. I would also consider changing his formula. He may not be able to digest the current one well. Be sure to call your doctor though. They need to be aware of this, even if they don't have an answer right now.

Consult with your doctor -- your baby is still very young but I have a strong feeling that it's the formula.. Is it possible for you feed him more breast milk and reduce his formula?

Try an ounce of water (no more), also adding karo syrup to the formula seems to work for a lot of babies. And if he still can't push his dirt out, there's always the glycerine suppositories.

Can the formula, it has too much iron in it. Breastmilk is perfect.

1st thing - ask the Doctor. 2nd - ask the Doc if you should switch to a Soy based formula. My daughters had the same problem. Lots of pain, gas, and hard stools. The Soy formula worked great. 3rd - see my 1st recommendation, I'm not a Doctor.
