"I'm here for you.......Don't ever hesitate to ask for anything and i love you"

Don't treat them any differently. The only change in how you treat them should come only when there are medical reasons that the person needs help dealing with, or can't do something. Part of having cancer is trying to not let it control your life.To have other people always talking about it means it is always on your mind, and sapping the fun out of life. Cancer stinks enough without having to always feel people are feeling sorry for you as well.

Be there for them and tell them you will give any help that they need.Try to be as positive as you can and alot of love.

Just tell them you are sorry and if there is any help they need you are there for them. Do not give them the impression you suddenly feel sorry for them or they are incapable of doing anything themselves. I have just been through this with my husband and his greatest fear was that people would treat him differently and feel sorry for him when he had always been the strong one that everyone turned to for help

Keep them positive, remind them how many people nowadays have beaten cancer and live long productive lives. Keep telling them how much new advancements in cancer treatment take place every day as well. Keeping them in a positive spirit will help them fight the cancer.
