  • Don't. The increased chances for infection aren't worth the risk. Let somebody else look like a tramp and then get tongue rot. If you proceed with the piercing, you should be, at the very least, politically correct and equal opportunity, which means two piercings, not just one. One in the front of the tongue for the girls, and one in the back for the guys. That way, nobody will feel left out. You don't want to offend somebody and make them fell left out, do you? I should think not.
  • Yes it will hurt i had my tounge pierced before and it hurt, bled, and swelled up to three times it size
  • I say go for it. I got mine pierced a week ago (I am 53 y.o. female). I did it mainly to lose weight and i already dropped 8 pounds. I couldn't eat anything for 6 days except soup, yogurt, but now i can eat regular food but have to chew slowly and carefully that i don't bite on the bar and chip my teeth, so that will help with the weight loss too. But i do like the way it looks too. It didn't hurt that bad, my nose hurt worse when i got that pierced (that is closed up now though). It was fast. I am looking forward to changing the bar to a shorter one in about two more weeks....have fun - do it!
  • I'm 17 and just got mine done, it didn't hurt at all for me, just felt a bit weird, mine didn't swell that bad either just my bar looks a bit crooked because my tongue is swollen still in random places. I say go for it if you want, I didn't have mine numbed either and it still didn't hurt.
  • i am 41, i pierced my tongue 5 years ago, after 3 days of doing it i took it out because my husband gave me crap about it. but i've been thinking about having it redone. some ppl are saying i shouldn't because of my age. WTF. but it didnt' hurt that bad.
