  • If he's still on the ground, a player from the other team only has to touch him. Otherwise, he can get up and run until he's stopped, pass the ball, etc.
  • The play is ended when he is down by contact (hit, tackled, touched, etc.), out of bounds, or he goes into a slide. This is only situations for the QB to be down. He could also fumble or throw an interception if behind the line of scrimmage.
  • When a member of the opposing team touches him.
