Question

Help answer this question below.

On my 1995 Ford Escort, my fuel inertia switch keeps tripping and I have to manually press the reset button each time. I can be driving down the freeway and the engine will just shut off. What can I do to fix it?

Replace the inertia switch. It can be bypassed but I would only do that in an emergency situation. (just long enough to get the car to a repair shop). The inertia switch shuts off fuel to the engine when you are in an accident and is there to keep the car from catching fire from a fuel leak caused in an accident.
