Of course, especially the ones that negate my points so I can hunt them down.
-
This would become a crazy site if that were allowed. Don't worry the negative points would not pull down your overall score. =)

I'm having a vision... FLAMES! No, I don't think it should tell you. I prefer the anonymous system we have.
-
No sure then there would be mayhem, and this would become a mouth-off. Ab would not be the same anymore.
-
Anyone who wishes to downrate should be required to give a reason. Otherwise, no downrating. Username? Probably not, because that would result in downrating warfare among less mature ABers.
-
I think a user should be able to choose between an "anonymous" avatar and an identified one ... like we can now ... but then, AB should clearly show EVERYTHING done by all the identified users while hiding the identity of the anonymous ones.

Oh, perhaps the information could be made available somewhere, if not right in the comments column. Sort of a "see who rated you" link. But I do think it would do more harm than good and start a bunch of flame wars. People get needlessly competitive. It's considered polite to leave a comment saying why you downrated an answer. To downrate a question and say why, I suppose one would need to answer it.

That really wouldn't accomplish much, other than a big feud. You get these arguments between different factions that just never seem to end. AB shuts it down and it just creeps up somewhere else. I agree with the points not making any sense. Seems to be just one big popularity contest. I've seen the same answer posted by low and high level users. The low level user posted the answer first, but the high level user received 90% of the points. I've noticed that few will challenge the comments of one of their "friends", but will be more than happy to join their "friend" in bashing someone else. Others seem to always answer questions directed at a specific group, in which they are not a part of. Some people just can't seem to just "let it slide" or mind their own business. I am as guilty as anyone of getting riled about certain comments, questions, and answers. I just try not to dwell on it. Very little of what occurs on AB is of any importance anyway.
