Well, when I was a teenager, my favorite things to do to reduce stress were: -practice the martial arts -drive -listen to music -hang out with my friends -play with my ponytail (yes, I'm a guy.) -twirl my earring The reason I'm talking about the things I did when I was like 18 is because when I went to boot camp, I couldn't do any of these things. So it depends on what you can do. You just need to find something constructive to do that feel good. Right now my biggest stress reliever is capoeira.

avoid it in the first place as in not procrastinating and making poor decisions. if it's unavoidable then i vent to someone or take a shower.

It depends on what you like and enjoy. For some it is shopping. For others it is a good massage or a manicure or pedicure. For others it is fishing or just plain relaxing. Doing something you enjoy and putting yourself completely into it will let you forget your stressors and relax. Trust me, afterwards you'll feel a million times better!!!
