Any physical activity.... cycling and walking helped me alot. Really going for it on the hills helped me get rid of pent up feelings.
As hard as it may be to set the time apart or because of lack of energy that comes with stress, exercise is the #1 way to deal with stress. Take a long walk outside and look at the trees, flowers, etc. Walk your dog. Exercise in the outdoors does wonders.
I go to the gym, and sing like a lunatic in the car!
Don't use any quick fixes that only produce even more stress when you wake up. :)

The only way to de-stress is to remove that which stresses you or remove your self away from it. Take some time off from your worries and not give it any thought until you are ready to take it back on.
avoid it in the first place as in not procrastinating and making poor decisions. if it's unavoidable then i vent to someone or take a shower.
I think it's good to take some time for yourself. I like a bubble bath, scented candles, and a glass of wine.

take a quiet time with your self, listening to music(I recommend Chopin) and speak to yourself on the issue that stressing you (Why am I stressed? is it worth it? my best way to get rid of it is...? and finally be selfish in solving your problems except you won't be hurting someone's life).
