  • That's the current trend to believe for the lost. A type of Anihilationist point of view. Some are closing thier eyes to the scriptures that speak of a place of torments for those who are lost or trying to change the meanings of the words using various forms of trickery to make it sound like those scriptures don't "really" mean what they are clearly saying. For most of Jewish history they most certainly did - and many still do - believe in an afterlife even for those who don't know God.
