u were right in what u said. She's probably mad because she feels guilt and embarrased cause you told her what she already was embarrassed about. give her space and let her contact you.

Jesus God already, if she starved the rabbit and you told her the truth about it, nail her again and again until she admits it. Friendship or not, anyone who refuses legitimate correction by tossing platitudes at you claiming they wish to not be JUDGED is living in a fantasy world which will falter and fail ultimately in grand fashion. Correction feeds the base of knowledge, failure to correct is simply failure. A real friend corrects gross ineptitude regardless of how it is received.

Not on a matter that is not subjective. There is nothing subjective about what you said. As long as you said it factually. "Your rabbit died because you kept forgetting to feed it." If you don't feed and animal it will die. Period. There's no judgment call there. If you said "You're an evil and horrible person for starving a poor helpless animal that depended on you for its life." Then, you were being judgmental.

i am 50+,my observation convinced me that 95% of pet owners should never attempt to have a pet of any sort. these people are on an ego trip with the genuine pet owners, only to destroy some really sweet and loving animals.

Yes, she would just be mad because her rabbit died, but you shouldn't feel your friendship has passed, just keep chatting, and thinkgs should be good.
-
No. Friends are honest and tell each other when they have done wrong - its not just good things we tell each other. You have to be honest to be great friends. Sorry to hear about the rabbit. If she stops talking to you - she wasnt holding up her side of the "being a friend" unspoken bond.

You sound like an extremely good friend. She neglected her rabbit, for Pete's sake! God help her if she has a baby - you may need to keep Social Services/Child Services number in your mobile on speed-dial!
