  • I haven't seen any actual evidence that it does. I have seen evidence of it not working.
  • The answer here, as with most such questions is, "It Depends." First, the most popular drug education program, DARE, has been shown to not provide any benefit for those who graduate, compared to other groups that did not participate in it. However, some drug education, particularly those that give REALISTIC information, without trying to pull the wool over youth's eyes, are show at least to delay onset of drug experimentation. And research strongly indicates that the older one is before the onset of drug experimentation or use, the less likely one is to become addicted to substances. ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^ ^v^
  • Only to a degree. The more one is socially connected with others that are in the drug culture already, the less likely the education will be for that individual.
  • Nope. They tell you complete B.S. and when kids hear others experiences and they are contrary to what DARE said, this can actually make them more curious. If they just gave the real facts it would be more successful.
  • I'd have to say no. Judging by the prevalent use of drugs in our society and our inability to create a climate necessary to combat it. II would say we are losing the battle.
  • It depends...
