In actuality the words are typically synonomous...but as for how their used in reality, drugs are usually not for any type of health gain (and usually illegal) and medicine is used for treating conditions.

They are the same things, however, it depends on how you use them. All medicines are 'drugs' if one was to abuse the medicine then thats 'drug abuse'.

While the two terms can be synonyms, i.e., a substance ingested to treat a disease or medical condition, they are different in a broader sense.

The word drug always refers to a substance that is used to alter the mind or the body of the person or animal consuming it. A drug may be used for medical, spiritual, or recreational purposes. The term may be used to describe both addictive and non-addictive substances, within the purview of recreational drugs. In this context, it often has a negative connotation.

The word medicine can refer to the practice of disease prevention and cure (e.g., a doctor practices medicine) and the science of drugs (e.g., drug research and development), rather than medical activities such as surgery or physiotherapy.

Medicine is a natural herbal and/or herb that cures
sickness and disease. Drugs are man made concoctions
that are brewed up in a laboratory. A drug could be
plant compound that is altered by chemicals to make
something new. Example Ephedrine is natural and comes
from Mai Huang, when you alter it and create Meth you
just created a drug. Now if you smoke or eat marijuana
you used a medicine. You do not alter the compounds in
marijuana so it is not a drug. A drug is anything you
can change or alter the molecular structure to create
a new compound. Whereas Medicine is natural and herbal.

God-damn, most of these answers can be ignored immediately.

If this is meant in the pharmacological sense, the drug is the active ingredient within the medicine (e.g. paracetamol, phenoxymethylpenicillin), whereas the medicine is the drug PLUS all the other inactive ingredients, such as fizzing agents, colouring agents, flavouring agents and so on.

Generally this 2 types are same. So we should avoid this type of questions.

Actually drug is the crude form and medicine is the modified form.Usually medicine is only beneficial wheres drug may be both beneficial or harmful. There is also a major difference between drug and medicine. That is the doses form. The doses form of medicine is specific but drug is non-specific.

A medical drug is used to cure infections and diseases, they are prescribed by your GP. Whereas a social drug can cause hallucinations , slows down reactions and can also cause problems with the brain. No-one knows why people take illegal drugs but people who have experienced drug use usually say that they took them to simply have a good time or the most common excuse was that they were peer pressured into taking them.

Medicine is something that can aid illnesses and injuries. This can include natural remedies also.

A drug is something man-made only rather then natural.

    Usually nothing.
A drug is any substance that acts on the body, the term "Medicine", in it's typical modern usage, refers to a drug which the modern medical establishment has seen fit to use in treatments.

Not all drugs are considered "Medicines", but just about any non-lethal drug has the potential to be used as one.
