The first 20 years of my life..that was by circumstance..I was too young not to be single. After that all the times I was single was by choice. :)

I've been single by choice for about 5-6 months at the moment, I think this is possibly the longest I've ever been single. I don't mind having a nice break in between relationships, it makes a refreshing change. I still occasionally have sex when I'm single though, I don't become celibate (I'm not sure I could cope with that), being single really just means I'm not commited to anyone. (I've just realised I didn't really answer your question. I've never been single not by choice.)

The first 22 years of my life. That's when I met my ex wife. It was because most of the females up til that point I was interested in didn't think I was good enough to be their boyfriend.

Single the first 16 years of my life... I've been single by choice for about 10 months now. The longest amount of time that I have been single NOT by choice was for about a year following my divorce... but I suppose you could consider that by choice also. Hmmm... well I was single NOT by choice for about 8 months after my first fiance ran off with somebody else 2 months before our wedding... but again that could also be considered by choice. Ok... this question is more difficult than it looks. :P

7 years not by choice. I hate every second of it, I need a girl to be happy. Im sure its because Im ugly. If I talk to a chick on the phone, even a hot one, 99% of the time I'll have them laughing and being real nice for hours and anxious to meet me. But once they see me it's over! They'll behave totally distant, eventually hateful if I try to keep in touch. But personality wise as long as they havent seen me they'll think Im everything theyve been looking for in a man. I'm 6' 220 lbs. When I went down to 180 for 3 years it was the exact same almost. But when I was skinny more fat girls wanted to cheat on their boyfriends with me for some reason. Now its more alcoholic unwed mom cheating on their husband and boyfriend.
