The first time I shaved myself, I actually sat on the countertop of my bathroom. I took a pair of scissors at first to trim it as best as I could so the shaving would be easier. After I got the pubic hair as closely trimmed as I could, I used warm water and some of my boyfriend's shaving gel to start the shaving process. I used a women's razor instead of my boyfriend's (more out of his request than my need to pay an extra $5 for a pink version of a razor). I used one of his menthol or something shaving gel, which kinda numbed the area a little bit. I then went very slowly with the razor to remove the pubic hair. I was very deliberate, especially around the labia, which is a really sensitive area to me. I made sure to wet the razor each time. It helped having the mirror in front of me so I could see what I was doing. After I finished shaving it, I washed the area with warm water and some soap. After I dried it, I applied some lotion, which helped with the irritation. After I shaved the first time, I found that I had to keep shaving the area pretty frequently, because when the pubic hair starts growing back, it can get very itchy.

make sure you use a lot of hot water and a lot of shaving cream.. i actually use conditioner because my skin is so sensitive that helps me with razor burn

i would just get it waxed, it feels smoother for longer, you dont get ingrown hairs and it doesnt itch when growing back. and it feels sooo much nicer too

And don't forget to videotape the whole ordeal and share it with curious guys like me! PS Although I love being able to see "all your parts" unobstructed by pubic hair... I still have to say, I like pubic hair... it's so soft, warm, feminine. I recommend not shaving. Women go to so much trouble, and for what? It's itchy and prickly. If you want to do it for "fun" sometime, let your boyfriend/husband shave you and then let it grow back. But to maintain yourself like that, don't bother.
