I'm afraid of needles and knives and I'm pretty smitten with me as I am so I wouldn't do it. If someone else does it and it makes them feel good about themselves, good for them.
if it makes them happy and feel more confident about themselves then it is a good thing for them.
It would increase someone's mental health if they have a better image of themself every time they look into the mirror. Some people sure could use it. Lots of people who spend their lives in front of a camera do because it is important for their careers that they present a wrinkle free image. That would be cool if there was a deductable amount from health insurance. I'd vote for a bill sponsoring it.
I would never judge anyone for making the choice to have cosmetic surgery, but I don't have any desire to do that. Except when I go into the witness protection program. I have seen way too much here on AB! *hee*
I went and saw Jodie Foster's new movie last night and there were a lot of close-ups and she hasn't done anything so there are quite a few lines etched in her face and it just gave her so much depth and beauty, and character. I certainly wouldn't judge anyone who did do something. I've thought about it. If there is something really bothering you having the surgery may release you from thinking about it so much. But those people who are consumed with doing surgery after surgery = I feel sad for them.
Sure.
I do think it's funny when someone has kids and people ask 'Where did s/he get that honker?' Turns out someone had a little rhinoplasty, hehe.
I think many people go too far. I also feel it's best when features are enhanced (as you said) rather than changed. Variety is the spice of life, there are many people who may not fit the 'conventional standards' of beauty but do have beautiful features and a wonderful personality.
If it affects their confidence yes, the only reason i had cosmetic surgery was because i only felt half a women with deflated boobies, i didn't go over the top with size, i just got what i had when i was 16, i would only agree with reason being psychological or reconstructive due to an accident or cancer, other than that goes beyond normal reason.
I think if they can afford it and it makes them feel better then by all means go ahead!!
To each is own...
Its a personal choice but I think people need to consider what they really want to look like. I see many hysterical and pathetic results of this when people who are clearly in their later years just look completely silly. There is something to be said for growing old gracefully.
If that's what makes them feel better about themselves, certainly.
It should be compulsary for some people!
Nope, I think people should just be thankful for what looks God gave them, and don't change a thing. You were born this way, you are meant to be this way.
If you can afford it and want to have it, then go ahead. I certainly don't plan to age gracefully! lol
Only if they really want to! If someone's tempted to have it, I'd say they should think about it for a long while, and make sure that they're not reacting to some passing insecurity or trying to get a quick fix e.g. liposuction instead of natural weight loss. If they're sure it's for the right reasons and it's something they'd really prefer to change, I say go for it. If you genuinely have a feature that you hate, why live with that? Life is really short :)
Well, people really shouldn't be having cosmetic surgery to make them look worse! But some people do that too, eg. Michael Jackson...
It's not for us to decide. Some people don't feel comfortable with their physical appearance and alter them as they find necessary.
I'd go for surgery if I could change myself so much that I'd forget who I am.
I think it has gone way over board. People are starting to look sooooooooooo weird!!! Everything on a person is starting to be fake. UGH
It is always a personal choice; but there are people who take it to far I think they need a different type of help!!!!!
go for it :]
Sure, why not.
I don't get why people think it's a bad thing.
For everything in life we are suposed to try and constantly improve ourselves, so why when it comes to this should we just accept who we are?
No, you were born who you are. Deal with it.
"Should" is a loaded word. There is no right or wrong or should or shouldn't on this one. It's a very individual choice. Nobody should if they don't want to - no matter how they look. People shouldn't if they're making the decision in an effort to solve other problems that have nothing to do with their appearance. Anyone who does have cosmetic surgery needs to have a good doctor, be in good health, be informed, have realistic expectations, have enough money to pay for it without going into debt, and fully understand that it's real surgery, and so something could go terribly wrong.
It all depends. If a person is missing some teeth, then a cosmetic surgery can be done.
only if your face was attacked by a puma or other toothy animal
yes
YES
no i dont, they were born to look that way then deal with it.
but dont spend million of dollars to change the way you look and then have to go back 2 years later because one of your silicone boobs is falling out.
Of course..Nobody is perfect and sometimes u want a change in ur life..and every morning when u wake up, first thing is looking at the mirror..and if u dont like a part of ur face u cant be happy, and will have a bad day..so u can change any part of ur body u dont like and make yourself happier..
Absolutely if that is what they want to do. I would if I could.
If it is to fix a deformity I see no problem with it, when you are trying to look like a fake barbie doll, I dont like it.
Not for lips or breasts or looking younger but the nose I can let that one slide because big noses often mean sinus problems. But if you have low or damaged self esteem for your breast or lips the problem lies inside of you not on you.
LOL No way!!! Have you ever seen the people who get plastic surgery?!?! I watch those shows, and they always look worse afterwords. And if you notice people who really LOVE plastic surgery always end up looking THE SAME!!...people people, you were made the way you were...cuz that is how you look best. A Nose job...to flatten that bump...or boobs to make you more attractice only lead to a nose with no bump (which i luv bumps)...and boobs that are hard...look unnatural...and are kinda freaky.
If they want it and think they would feel more confident, then absolutely yes.
yes i think that if you can change something on your face to look attractive you should.
only if it would help them emotionaly and not look fake. look at Mickey Rourke. he looks like a freak, i just saw hime that way for the 1st time and i was shocked- he looks like a burn victim.
