Recently I was moderated for flagging a question. Actually it wasn't the question I was flagging but the plethora of swear words flying back and forth between commentors. How would I have brought notice to this in a better way?

Maybe flagging the answer instead of the question?

Put in the comment thread that you thought the use of foul language was awful and pointing out that with younger members of AB was it was necessary or something along those lines.

It doesn't work to flag an answer to get the comments to stop. The only way to do that is to use feedback button on the bottom of the page. The moderators don't really spend a lot of time on flags so if they have to really hunt something down, they aren't going to do it, I'm afraid. I've had that problem when a commercial spammer got real clever and didn't put his links in an answer, he put them in comments:-) So we couldn't flag them. But writing to the staff worked. They got him. yeah! And the reason your percentage went down is because out of 5 flags, you only have had 3 successful ones. They rest have been denied. So to them, that makes 60%. It can also show up low % when you flag a few and they haven't gotten to them yet. But then when they have it will rise if they get accepted.
