Always carry a deck of cards, and practice shuffling methods. Carry some foam balls and learn to juggle!
-
You could always bring a book or magazine to read.
-
make sure you carry a pad and pen so in case you think of some cool question to ask when you get back, you can write them down.

What did you do for entertainment before answerbag? Might be a good time to revisit an old hobby... Good luck with your recovery.

Hi, Debris..good luck. How about taking pad and pencil and writing down tons of questions for AB? Then when you come back you will have the zillions of questions you thought up and we will give you zillions of answers/comments and we will all get zillions of points and everyone will be happy! :) ...or, catching up on your reading would be good as well! :)

Aww hope you're better soon! Get your magazines, books, and crossword puzzles, food, the tv remote and alot of movies that you love. Should be good til you get back!

While in hospital, seize the opportunity to socialize with real people. Strike up conversations, learn about other people's lives. Some will be scared or lonely, some will be just interesting. You could be in for some interesting stories or heart to heart conversations with people you'd never meet otherwise. Spend the rest of your recovery time doing something similarly enriching and creative, but non-technological. Write a short story or a poem, read a book that you should have read years ago, draw or paint something, write letters to people, make a list of all the things you used to do when you had more time and consider how you might add them back into your life (if they should be). Think a lot. Think about who you are, what you've accomplished, and what you intend to do with the time you have left. Most importantly: enjoy time with your mother. None of us really knows how long we've got here.
