In English? Or in the local dialect thereof? I am sure our best known slang in Australia would be different from that in America. I still think "cool" has stood the test of time.

If swear words count it would have to be the "f" word as it can be used as a verb, adjective, adverb, noun and is very versatile, even when not used offensively. However, I'm partial to "heebie jeebies"
