I'm a male and I'm thinking about getting my tongue pierced. Do you people think it's okay and would it hurt a lot? I'm wondering would there be any chances of losing my taste buds because i hear a lot of rumors about that. Also, is it gay to do this?

To start off, piercing your tongue doesn't make you gay, being attracted to men makes you gay. (So if you aren't attracted, you aren't gay.)
As far as your tongue goes, I haven't heard about losing tastebuds, but I have heard that if they don't pierce in the right spot it could paralyze your tongue- the problem with that is I don't know if that's 100% true or not. My sister got hers done and said that it didn't hurt at the time it was getting done, but it hurt a little the next few days as your tongue does swell a bit. There also may be a bit of bleeding. This is natural. Just drink alot of water and suck on alot of ice cubes to keep the swelling down. If you want it, go for it!

I don't think you'll become gay because of a tongue piercing, but it will definitely hurt like hell.

It hurts a little, but really only a little. It will be sore for a while afterwards, and until it has healed, I would recommend not eating anything too acidic or anything like that.

FYI; it won't make you lose taste buds. There shouldn't be any adverse effects if you get it done properly. Go somewhere good and find a piercer who knows what they are doing and you should be fine.

I have my tounge pierced, and personally I like it on guys. I don't think its gay at all. Every guy I know that has a tounge ring is straight so I really think theres no problem with it at all. You only lose the tastebuds that the needle went through but I still taste the same as I always did. I dont ever like answering the does it hurt question because to me its how high your pain tolorence is. On me it hurt worse than my belly button but I still went through with it. Just make sure you go to a GOOD tatoo place to get it done because where I went, the piercer didn't tell me A LOT of things he should have told me about what I can and can't do and I ended up having to to a little research online to see what is good and what isn't. It only takes 2 weeks to heal and once you get used to it you'll like it.

First off, a male who has his tongue pierced DOES NOT mean he is gay. Infact, alot of girls like a man with his tongue pierced and in the end it's just a style preference anyway. Second, it doesn't hurt AT ALL!! I had mine done, and didn't even feel it. And if taken care of properly, it's the quickest piercing to heal. And you wont loose your taste buds or any of that, just make sure you go to a proper place and have them do it the right way. And take good care of it

as for losing your taste buds thats a load of crap. i have my tongue pierced twice and im going to get it done two more times and i have not had any issues with my teeth, infection, loss of muscle control anywhere on my body because of it none of that. you just have to live without dairy products, alcohol, giving oral sex, for a few weeks. and i think its dead sexy when a guy has his tongue pierced. and no it doesnt make you gay! sucking cock makes you gay.

Getting your tongue pierced if you're a male is not gay lol...and out of all the piercings thats the one that hurt the least (I have tongue, lip, septum, and nose) Go to the right body piercing shop...do some research on the shop and piercer and don't be afraid to question them!

No it doesn't make you gay...my fiancee got one and I love it....;)and I got one recently and it didnt hurt one bit. I just felt it go through asked if he did it yet and said he was putting the balls on. It didn't even bleed. But it will be sore for a few days. And you have to follow directions to lower the risk of infections and don't drink alcohol or use alcohol based mouthwash and keep it clean.

it don't hurt at all to get it pierced. i got mine done on friday and its now monday and the only thing that hurt was when it swelled up...a lot which it will...and no its not gay. and if ur worried about ppl thnkgin ur gay cuz of it, it might not be the right piercing for you. i never heard anything about the losing tastebuds and stuff so i cant help u on that one...

Depending on if you accept anesthetic or not the pain might be a little lessened. I mean I got two done at the same time. One on each side of my tongue. And it didn't really hurt when I had it done. It started hurting a few hours later. That wasn't because the anesthetic wore off. I didn't have any anesthetic. I think for me it was just my mouth was temporarily stunned by what I just put it through.

You don't lose your taste buds when you pierce your tongue. It's body art and has nothing to do with your sexual orientation. It's not a sign of being gay at all. This is something that you do for you.

Everyone reacts differently to being pierced. It all depends on the piercer, where they pierced you and how your body reacts to the piercing. My tongue swelled for a few days and it hurt badly enough where I couldn't eat. I was drinking ensure for a few days till the swelling went down.

People who get this shouldn't care what other people thing. It's not a seriously visible piercing unless you get in the habit of clicking it against your teeth. People see it if you choose to let them or when you're talking.

The only other thing I can think of is to be careful when your eating and mind where it is. It sucks if you bite the ball.

I just got my tongue pierced and all of my friends with the same piercing say I must have gotten lucky. I didn't even notice when he put the needle through and it has only hurt once in the past five days when I bit down on the ring. Honestly, go for it. Just get a professional and it should be fine. You're tongue will probably swell up pretty bad and even if it doesn't it's a good idea to eat warm applesauce and ice chips. Just keep it clean.

It doesn't hurt at all. When you go to get your tongue pierced they give you somethign to swish around in your mouth, somethign sort-of like Listerine but much stronger which nums you tongue to wear you can not feel the needle going through your tongue. If you do feel it then you either didn't swish it around long enough or your a wimp or the piercer you went to did it wrong!!

I say that anybody can get what ever they want done to their body. Boys with their tongue rings can look cute, then some girls will like that in a boy for getting it done. Girls with their tongue rings can make a boy feel good.

no it doesnt hurt to get your toungue pierced, but it is uncomfotable for a little while. avoid salty foods as this will make it swell. i got mine pierced a few years back and it was (and still is) fine. if you get a proper fitting barbell in it your speech wont be affected, and as long as you dont tap it on your teeth all the time your teeth wont rot. in fact mine never even touches my teeth. avoid kissing for a day or so as it will increse the chance of infection. wash your mouth out with mouthwash every time you eat or smoke for 2 days. thats about all the advise i can give, i say go for it!!

I had my tongue pierced. I'd say the most painful part is the healing process rather then the actual piercing. That pain isn't something I even remember. I do remember it being a pain in the ass when it was healing. You have to constantly gargle with Listerine... for about 2 weeks after and it should heal fine.

If you go to a good tattoo shop you shouldn't have to worry about complications. Maybe you know someone that has it done and it healed nicely and they can recommend you to the person they went to. I wouldn't pick some random place to have it done. Ask people who have good tongue piercings and choose one of those piercers.

i just got my tongue pierced on tuesday ddue it's a little pinch it doesn't reall hurt when its pierced.....for about a week after you get it pierced u'll need to wash ur mouth out with listerine after u eat drink or smoke.....if your tongue hurts take ibprofin that helps alot and girls usually like guys with thier tongue pierced

getting your tongue pierced hardly hurts...who ever told you about your taste buds was lying...I've never heard that one before...just make your sure that you don't try to do it yourself...and as far as being "gay" goes, it's far from it...most women, myself included, think that tongue piercings are very sexy

i just got my tongue and lip done today and to be honest, my lip was a hell of a lot worse than my tongue. i got so worked up about how painful my tongue would be and when it was done, i didn't really even feel it go in. about 20 minutes after you get your tongue done, the pain starts to kick in. just put a lot of ice on it and rinse your mouth out 4-5 times a day with non-iodized sea salt and you'll heal up pretty quickly. plus if you go to a reputable shop, preferably with an AAP certified piercer, then you'll feel the least amount of pain possible, and you'll know it's sanitary. you'll be fine:) i really didn't feel the needle go in at all. just be ready for after-pain.

by the way, its not gay. my piercer was really hot and he had his tongue pierced and he was the farthest thing from gay.

Why on earth would it be gay? Girls love it!!! And it depends on the person and the piercer if it hurts. More than likely will. But if you really want a piercing that shouldn't matter. And no, you don't loose your tastebuds at all.

I just had my tongue pierced 2 days ago, it's not very sore, it is swollen a bit but the piercing didn't hurt, it just felt a bit weird lol.

Piercings don't make you gay though and as long as you get a plastic tongue ring then your teeth should be fine.

P.S. make sure you clean it with alcohol-free mouthwash, burns alot less and it'll heal faster and not swell as much. I've been taking Motrin if it hurts and that seems to take the swelling down and it helps with it being sore.

It's usually sore for a week or two if you take care of it, more if you don't. You can't lose your taste. It's not gay and some people might take offense to that, and you should only get it pierced at a well known, safe and sterile shop. Do some research.
Never pierce your tongue pierced with a ring, if the piercer says that's ok, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I just got mine done yesterday and the pain of the piercing was minimal. It wasn't really all that painful afterwards and today it's just a little tender. I get little pangs of pain around the piercing every now and again but thats normal. It's definitely NOT as painful as some people make it out to be.

I haven't heard about losing the tastebuds, honestly i don't even think that's possible. I think what they are referring to is the weekly shedding of tastebuds (which happens to everyone). Usually it's just that white filmy stuff you notice on yur tongue every now and again. I heard that when you get yuor tongue pierced it can turn brownish-red for a week or so because the tongue is trying to heal itself.

This isn't speaking from direct experience, but I know quite a few people who have tongue piercings.

1) Yes. It will hurt like hell. Maybe not the second you get it pierced, but afterward.

2) You're stabbing a hole in your tongue, the taste buds aren't exactly going to want to stick around. They'll grow back.

3) It isn't "gay" to do this. I like guys with pierced tongues.

ok, im male 16 yrs old, and i have my tongue peirced, im not gay, my GF loves the pleasure she gets from it, for me, at the time of piercing it didnt hurt at all, i didnt even notice the needle had gone through untill i went to move my tounge, after watching u tube videos, im glad i got the chick i got , i was in and out within 3-5mins, and i had time to go shopping for a new bar b4 leaving the shop, they did tell me i should drink some frozen coke or slushies straight away... any way, i was sort of able to eat dinner that night, it hurt, but it was tollerable, as the swelling went down so did the uncomfortableness ( proberbly not a word, but hey im 16, i like making stuff up) now the sweeling has gone down it great fun to play with, and my GF loves the thigns i can do... as for taste buds, well, i can still taste everything fine....id say if ur keen for it, go for it ......
