peronally - I would think it slightly babyish for a grown man or a woman to still call their mother mummy.

As Highlander said, it's a term of endearment. Of course there is nothing wrong with that by itself. It's no different than him calling her mother, or mom, or momma. Every family has it's own infrastructure. All kinds of things that happen over the years within a family - and nick names, terms of endearment are born of small details.

I call my Mommy mommy... I'm 25/married/female. It's just the same as saying mom or mother. I only call her mother if I'm pissed at her. What's in a name? A rose by any other would smell just as sweet lol.

Not if he's not serious when he's saying it. Otherwise, I'd say it's a red flag.
