  • To a degree that's been a problem for me. I wouldn't say I lost ALL interest in EVERY aspect but lost motivation in general to do anything I had interest in. In theory, the best way to overcome that would be to do it anyway, even if you don't want to. But lately that hasn't been working for me very well so I started with prozac. It is starting to give me more focus...
  • Please, please, please, seek the help of a professional counselor!
  • Just try to work your way through one day at a time. Try to take a little hope and pleasure for the small things. Even the pleasure of others is something that gives hope.
  • I keep going with the "hope" that something good is just around the corner. I mean, when we get that far down, the only way to go is up, right? That has kept me going before. But, and this is VERY important, if you can't see the possibility of ANYTHING good happening, listen to "Writer" and "Mama", and see your doctor immediately! They do have some new prescriptions that work wonders! And, it doesn't mean you have a mental illness. It could just be a chemical imbalance or something that can be corrected with a prescription or something.
  • If this is how you feel, don't try to be brave and push through it: get h elp. Go to a counsellor (priest/rabbi/minister, professional etc) and talk to them. It may be that you even need a little medication to get you back on track, as these things are often chemical inbalances. But, for goodness sake get help. Life is too short not to enjoy it. Take it from someone who is depressive, but is back on track.
