well a degree really only proves that you are intelligent and have the staying power to finish a job..it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the nature of your degree.

Absolutely and they should. A degree indicates an ability to commit to a task and complete it. It is a very basic credential that translates across many professions. This is especially true when you study a particular subject that does not have a direct connection to your profession. Fortunately education is more accessible than ever before.
