Yes and YES. That makes you feel clean and raises your esteem (value) in others eyes. Moreover, you don't have to hide your face when the GOD calls upon you.

Yes it is, especially at sundown tomorrow night for a whole group of people that practice a certain faith.

Certainly. It is for me anyway. If I don't, it eats away at me. My conscious can't let it go. There are still incidents from YEARS ago that occasionally come to my mind and I feel terrible about them. Unfortunately, there's no way to make it right now for various reasons.

They should make atonement to me and I've beed waiting 10 years.

Yes. Atonement means making amends or reparation made for an injury or wrong. The Catholic Church teaches that God takes away sin, but does not remedy all the disorders sin has caused. The penitent sinner must do what is possible in order to repair the harm against his or her neighbor (e.g., return stolen goods, restore the reputation of someone slandered, pay compensation for injuries). For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 1450 and following: http://www.nccbuscc.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2chpt2.htm#1450 With love in Christ.

In Islam a person who has wronged another has committed two transgressions. He has transgressed against the right of the other person by doing him a wrong and he has transgressed against God’s law which forbids him from doing wrong to others. So first he has to patch up with the person he has wronged, only when that wrong has been righted and the other person is or should be satisfied then only can the person turn to God and seek His forgiveness for breaking His law. And God is ever forgiving to the genuine repentant.
