Before college: toss it. During college: clean and re-use.

Some plastics are designed to be used multiple times. But some are designed for one time use only, like bottled water bottles. The more you reuse them, the more the materials break down and release chemicals into your water. Not sure where I heard this, but I did read this in a newspaper or on-line somewhere.

clean and reuse, unless it states very clearly that it is a one-time usage product.
-
Clean it and reuse it if it's not broke or anything
-
Toss it. I've been known to throw out actual dishes.

The cheap plastic in a box gets tossed. It's cheap enough that you can toss it and buy more. If it's the melamine stuff, we re-use it and have a section in a drawer for it.

I just toss it....that's why I bought it....I don't want to have to wash anything.
-
I always toss it. If I wanted to clean and re-use it, I'd use my regular stuff! I do know a couple people who reuse it, but I just don't see the point.
-
After one use, it's a goner.
-
I toss it (that's the reason I bought it), but if my husband is home, he'll wash it so we can reuse it.
-
I use mine to take food to work. I wash and reuse it when it is convenient, but if something goes bad in it I pitch the whole lot.

Use it once and toss it
