I would think Karate would be a good bet. That is a pretty solid martial art and there are lots of dojos so you will readily be able to find instruction in many areas.

Personally, I do not think you should learn just one. Your hands should be those of a boxer. Kicks could be from Muy Thai, or Karate. And any other style for when kicks and punches won't work. Grappling and wrestling never work, cuz once you're on the ground the fight is over.

Which art is not as important as which teacher. Even a great martial art can be ruined by a bad teacher. You will learn much more and you will learn much faster from a full grand master with decades of experience, than from a new first Dan black belt just beginning to teach. I recommend an internal style that is mostly "soft" and includes a lot of health sciences with grappling, joint manipulation, pressure points, and detailed anatomy lessons ... Ninjitsu or Tai Chi Chuan top my list. "Never underestimate a SOFT style self defense system."

Krav Maga is reliable, and (from my personal opinion) one of the best no nonsense fighting arts out there.

It depends on what you want to get out of it. I've answered questions like this before, but here's the breakdown. Armed or unarmed, sporting or not, and Martial or not. Some arts have combinations of all three categories. Some have atrophied to the point of not being a viable fighting system as currently taught. My particular art is Kunst des Fechtens, the martial art of medieval Germany. It is both armed and unarmed. It uses panoply of weapons, but the longsword is the major focus for most. It is non-sporting, and very martial.

Jiu-Jutsu is not a bad idea. The unarmed components of my art are very similar. Krav Maga is also worth looking into. A Modern Military Combatives course would probably be ideal, since they tend to take bits from a variety of MA, from Jiu-Jutsu to Kunst des Fechtens to you name it. The teacher makes all the difference, though. Visit a bunch of schools and see what you like.

Why don't you combine the gymnastics you've learnt in Parkour and apply it to a martial art such a Capoeira? I think you should look into Capoeira, It's a Brazilian martial arts created by slaves, though it looks almost dancelike, being both very eye catching and physically demanding.
